My hope is that you’ve been enjoying the peace, joy and magic of this holiday season. That you’ve found time to get lost in many precious moments like hugging cousins or relatives you haven’t seen in awhile, hanging with good friends, laughing so hard that tears begin to stream down your cheeks, dancing until your body gets lost in the music, and drooling over delicious meals.
One thing I plan to carry with me into the New Year is a state of mindful presence, focusing on each moment as precious and not getting caught up in what’s next, what I should be doing or would rather be doing.
By keeping my attention focused on what is right now, right in front of me, and how to make that the best possible experience for me and those around me, opens up a whole new world of possibility.
This takes work but once you cross the line into being fully present it is an amazing feeling of surrender and acceptance that brings calm loving energy.
With the end of 2016, as you gear up for the shift from celebration and reflection to motivation and intention, remember to consider your deep desires, how you want to feel and how you would like to impact others not just how you want to look or what you want to accomplish in measurable terms.
Instead of a long list of things you want to change about your self – to try and do better, work harder or accomplish more – think about what you REALLY want, what is the peace of mind you seek and what do you want to feel within yourself – abundance, freedom, connection, love……?
Why not try an empowering alternative to New Year’s resolutions – create a word of the year, a powerful guiding light based on intuitive intention. My soul sister and lifestyle coach Carrie Saba has created a beautiful book on how to do this. Get it here.
Whatever your intentions are – I say reach for the stars and let your soul sparkle.
Get really clear and commit to yourself.
Give yourself the gift of at least one non-negotiable act of love every day.
Soak up the beauty within and savor your brilliance.
